Video: Trackmania Nations Forever on Mac

Hey dudes! Want to know what Trackmania Nations Forever looks like on the Mac using CrossOver Games? Well, wait no more and watch the video below, where I take the game for a spin on my iMac. So, why my sudden urge to video review this game that I have known for a long time? Well, in this video I not only demonstrate my awful racing skills, but also the soon-to-be released ScreenCamera (project name) for the Mac, which allows you to do screen-casts like the one below for free. Check it out after the jump (Read More).

It's Time Again: Mensa Xmas Special

If there is ever a time to visit the Mensa in KL, that time is next Wednesday. During the extended lunch time from 11.15 to 14.15 the Mensa will be serving the finest they have to offer. And I speak out of experience, when assuring you that the food really is splendid, all for an unbeatable price. Here is an excerpt of the Christmas Menu selection (in German):

Argentinisches Rumpsteak (R) mit Cognac-Pfefferrahm (4), Zapfenkroketten (1) und Feldsalat mit Kartoffeldressing
Gebratene Barbarie-Entenbrust, glacierte Maronen, Semmelknödel und Apfelrotkohl
Steinpilze in Rahm, glacierte Maronen, Semmelknödel und Apfelrotkohl
Geschnetzelte Schweinelende in Dijonsenfsoße, Spätzle

Obviously it's best to come early, and to team up with a few people (who don't mind sharing their food) to get the most out of all dishes. Alternatively, you can grab a plastic box at the buffet to take some of the stuff (like Sushi) home. See you there!

iPhone Killer? Yeah, ..., uhm, No

Nokia is currently advertising their soon to be released smart-phone N97, complete with a touch screen, slide-out physical keyboard, 3G, WiFi, GPS, 5MP camera and 32 GB memory. From the specs, it obviously beats the crap out of the iPhone. But can the interface reach the elegance of the iPhone? Read more to find out.

GMail Features

So by now, all you GoogleMail users may have noticed the new Themes feature, which allows you to customize the look of your GMail web front-end. These range from complex, weather dependent ones (like the "Tree" theme I am currently using) to bare-bone ones like the Terminal look (for all you uber-geeks out there). Depending on how much you like to fool around with your computer settings, you may have stumbled upon many of the other features Google has built into GMail. Furthermore, you may have seen some of the future features of GMail, which you can test in the Labs section. Here are some of my favorite features:

Hello from my iPod Touch

Hi everybody! I am writing this from my iPod Touch, and I must say that it is absolutely incredible! I will post more information and first experiences about it soon, so stay tuned!!!

McCain Takes Defeat with Grace

With all the enthusiasm surrounding Obama's victory, I feel it only adequate that we reserve some space for the defeated. John McCain has shown some ugly moments in this campaign, but at the same time has always openly stood up against racism and bigotry targeted at Obama. In his speech given last night, he makes no exception. There are no negative comments made towards the winning candidate, or references to a bleak future. No, McCain takes defeat like a man, and gives a constructive outlook to the future. Whether you believe these are his sincere feelings or not, to me McCain will always be associated with his toughest moments, and this surely is one of them. Time and again has shown, that in these moments, John McCain takes the heavy burdens with honor and strength. I will always have respect for this man, and sincerely hope we have not seen the last of him on the political stage.

The Day After Tomorrow

Just to get you in the mood... (thanks to genlog for this):

Americans to Video their Vote

I think I have witnessed two U.S. elections so far on Digg, and I can now say, that one of the big topics before an election is voter fraud, caused by the electronic voting devices. Apparently, machines tend to "switch" votes if you're voting for the wrong guy. I have never really taken this seriously, but after watching a video of such a machine in action, I must say that their malfunctioning is down-right scary. While I don't believe this to be a scam (if it were, the machine simply wouldn't show the flip of votes on-screen), the buggy interface might result in many votes lost. So to monitor the machines, Americans are spreading the word to video-tape your vote, and publish the results if something goes wrong. The video of the malfunctioning machine after the jump!

The Final *Silent* Debate.

Think you know all about the upcoming election, and everything about the candidates? Well, think again, because you haven't seen their FINAL debate yet: The silent debate. Video after the jump...

Only Today! All CrossOver Products FREE!!!

Unbelievable! CodeWeavers, makers of the popular Wine spinoff Crossover, made a bet that George W. would not be capable of lowering the gas price below $2/gallon. If W. could prove them wrong, they'd give all their products away for free for one day. Well. the price of gas did drop below $2 yesterday, and so today you can get CrossOver Pro and CrossOver Games for Linux or Mac absolutely free of charge (normally each costs $40). Timing couldn't be more perfect for me, as I was seriously considering buying CrossOver Games just yesterday.
Anyway, I tried all morning to get through to their website, and they have now reduced their page to a light version due to the extremely heavy traffic. Anyway, everything is just as they say. The proof? There I am playing Trackmania Forever Nations on the Mac, with no Windows installed. So quick! Head over to CodeWeavers and grab your free copies! Seems like good ol' George W. did get one thing right...
